About
As a kid who has travelled to many countries before settling down in The Netherlands, I have always drawn things to express myself or to record memories. Especially when me and my family lived in India when I drew many funny little cartoons in a pink diary I kept around. Or in New Zealand when I became a fan of crafting stuff to make pretty designs and artworks. In Portugal is when I really started drawing. I watched many, and let me tell you, MANY art tutorials on how to draw cute animals and objects. Looking back, I definitely put a lot of effort into learning art and what it means to be an artist and illustrator.
My name is Sanne Chaviero. I am a 17 year old artist who has developed a fondness for drawing ever since the age of 12 and have been drawing ever since. I always like going outside my comfort zone when it comes to creating, whether it is designing characters, animating, comic writing and illustrating, but also poster and graphic design. After completing high school I went to art college where I learned how to use Adobe softwares such as Photoshop and Illustrator, and continue to learn more about how to work with people and create more design projects.
I have always been creating, but things really started rolling when I was 12, when I illustrated my very first Portuguese children’s book. I collaborated with a digital artist, while I did the storyboarding. It was a team effort, and I learned a lot about how illustrating a book worked. A year later, I had the joy of illustrating a second kid’s book with a different author. This one I illustrated solo and digitally, and have done that with another children’s book one year later. After my illustrating spree, I got smaller art jobs for friends and teachers, one where I had to draw a single character in a series of around 40 different poses. A few of these can be viewed here.
Other than illustrating, I have also dabbled in animation quite recently. There is still much to learn in this area, but I think it would be an interesting addition in my art journey. Also have done some different portfolio projects during art college. Such as designing products and different advertisement campaigns.
I draw traditionally sometimes, but I have always had an eye for digital art and have found it easier to use when it comes to working with other people. I use Procreate for all my art pieces and my Ipad, which makes it easy to carry around everywhere I go.
that is a little bit about who I am and what I have done so far. But of course my art journey isn't over yet! I can't wait to see what these upcoming years have in store for me and my art journey, and I am excited to see what the future holds.
